OutAboutHIV.org is a website that allows HIV positive people to come about about having HIV. By openly and honestly declaring one’s HIV status we hope to break HIV related stigma, stimulate conversation about what it means to live with HIV, educate our communities and give HIV positive people the opportunity to tell their stories of the contemporary experience of living with HIV.
If we can decrease stigma more people will get tested and seek treatment and it can have a real impact on the HIV epidemic.
This project can be a way to build a social network of HIV positive people who can create a coming out movement around HIV, expand the ever changing face of HIV, foster support and cultivate stronger communities.
